Oh it's a wonderful movie.  I've been singing it's songs for weeks already and driving my children mad.  In the film they really go to town celebrating Easter, at one point Judy Garland gives Fred Astaire a shiny new top hat, a cake and even a pet rabbit as part of their festivities.  (Oh what a joy to have a pet rabbit, sadly I don't think Le Pup would agree). 

Now whilst I am continually disappointed that life is not in fact an MGM musical with Fred Astaire purchasing a flower festooned bonnet for me to wear this holiday, I do really love how Easter has slowly become more of a celebration in recent times, beyond just the Easter weekend.  It does feel like the first moment in Spring, after the dark and greyness of Winter, where we can suddenly look around and fill our homes with spring blooms, decorations and joy.
