Say it with Cake this Mother’s Day!!!

Food was my mummy’s love language. She loved nothing better than whipping up a cake for a treat or some ridiculously delicious pudding none of us were expecting! She wasn’t known as Ma Larkin amongst my friends for nothing! I definitely have this gene from her. I love my cake. I love making it, I love feeding people cake (our builders are already getting used to cake Fridays!) and I’m also super particular about the cake experience. It should always feel like a treat. Cake plates are a must as are the right cutlery. My eight year old is always incredulous when we are served cake without a proper cake fork! 😝 And a cake stand to mark to occasion is literally the icing on the cake!! ( pun fully intended)

I’m thrilled to have this handmade cake stand & perfectly sized cake plates from Claire Folkes Ceramics in the store.  Hand thrown by Claire in her beautiful studio in rural Essex overlooking the fields, these cake stands & plates are hand glazed using a special blend of matt and gloss glazes which are poured by hand over each one to give them their own unique marbled effect where the glazes overlap.

The cake plates are quite my favourite thing - they are perfectly sized cake plate to use for a slab of cake or piece of flapjack with a slight ridge to the edge so you won't lose any precious crumbs.
