Meet Little Northern Nook
-One of my favourite things about running Rhubarb & Hare is the amazing makers I get to meet along the way. So talented and so inspirational it's a real pleasure and an honour to work with them and get to know them better.
Everybody loves a quick Q&A and as I always like to know more about the makers I buy from when I'm buying homewares for my own home, I thought I would ask some of my makers a few questions so you could get to know then a little better too.
First up is Danielle from Little Northern Nook. I have just started selling Danielle's very beautiful bobbin frames in the store. I love their design and their ability to add a colour pop to your home so quickly and easily. These frames are also surprisingly versatile so they can be stood or hung on a wall and they work landscape or portrait. Here's our 7 quick questions with Danielle:
How long have you been making your frames?
I've been making these frames since 2022
Where do you work from?
I've created a small workshop in my house (which I'm rapidly growing out of!)
What inspired you to start?
My love of interiors, styling and colour! I love getting into 'the zone' whilst I'm making them, it's my happy place.
What is most important to you when you’re making?
Each bobbin frame is meticulously hand-crafted, and I want my customers to know the love that's gone into each product. I also love to connect with my customers, so I always strive to offer the best customer service I can.
What is the name of one of your fave insta feeds which inspires you?
I love @a.modest.semi's account - it's colourful, very natural, fun and we share a love of beautiful interiors. I love seeing Dan's home renovation journey and interior projects!
What is the best piece of advice you’d give to any other maker?
Never compare your journey to someone else's. I know it sounds cliched but it's so true!
What is your favourite cake?
Ooh this is such a hard question!! I'm partial to lemon drizzle, Victoria sponge or a coconut and lime cake (basically all cakes!)
