Introducing Little Northern Nook to the Store

An A4 handcrafted pink bobbin frame on a sitting room shelf with a vase of peonies beside it

I'm a huge bobbin fan.  Though it originated in the 17th Century, the fact we still love the bobbin trend today says something about its timelessness.

As soon as I saw these handmade bobbin frames by Little Northern Nook I knew I wanted some for my home.  I've fallen into a rut recently of not updating our family photos around the house.  The majority are pics from our wedding and precious baby photos of our children - which are super important and I love seeing them, but recently we’ve been making so many more recent memories - family trips and experiences that I’ve really cherished.  Making memories as a family is really important to me and I love being reminded of them as I walk around our home.

These bobbin frames are exactly what I've been looking for.  They fill my brief of the perfect homeware combination of usefulness and beauty - items that give you joy each time you use them or see in your home, but that also serves a purpose.  Each frame is individually made by hand and finished with at least 3-5 coats of paint to ensure full coverage.  But that isn’t the best thing about them - the best thing is their versatility.  They’re lightweight so you can use them as a traditional photo frame BUT they can also be mounted onto a wall should you want them to give a pop of colour and texture to your gallery wall.  They can also be used horizontally or vertically dependent on what you wish to frame.

We have two size options, A4 for those larger images and a 5x7” for the more traditional sized photos though I have one of my seaweed postcards in the smaller size which looks fab.  And for the launch collection I’ve gone with two colours that I fell in love with; the ballet slipper pink which is a lovely soft pink and a cornflower blue. Both colours are strong enough to give them stand out but they will work with so many different colour schemes.  I hope to add some more colours soon.
